    Singing Swede.

Thanks to Penny & Bruno for this snippet:

    Hi Nick,
My brother in-law just told me on facebook that he knew The Swede. Bruno
said he had a few drinks with him. The Swede told him that the Loch Ness
Monster came from Sweden. He told the same story a few times even though
Bruno told him he was Italian and not Scottish. Bruno said it was a long
story. Bruno also said that The Swede spoke like in a Daffy/Donald Duck
voice style and had a big smile on his face.
Bruno just added the following to his info:

" The Singing Swede" used to come to the Elks Club occasionally for a
drink. I'm not sure if he was a member of the club or whether he ever
paid for a drink. He was a very likable guy, and although he gave the
impression that he was contributing to a discussion, I doubt whether he
was ever listening at all, because he always agreed with everybody on
    everything.

    Hi Penny.
Thanks to you and Bruno for that, I shall add it to the blog. I think I may have sat next to the Swede a couple of times in the old YK Hotel Coffee Shop. I remember him saying 'Yah' a lot but not much else intelligible, and of course I know he used to sing to himself. I wondered if anyone knew his story, where he lived, what he did to keep the wolf from the door etc. I always assumed he was an old prospector, crazy from living out in the bush by himself for too long who'd made a few bucks and was living off the money till he eventually drank himself to death.
